The Bachelor's degree in the multi-disciplinary dual-subject course of study qualifies students for entry into professional working life and, DEPENDING ON THE COURSE PLAN, for the Master's Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools or admission to a subject-related Master's degree course\; e.g. the Romance Studies/Two Languages, Language in Europe, Literature and Culture in Europe or Theology and Culture Master's degree courses at Osnabrück University. In the dual-subject Bachelor's degree course, alongside the core subject of Romance studies/French and an additional core subject, an inter-disciplinary professional qualification area is completed which, depending on the professional goal, comprises the core curriculum of teacher training (IKC) or the acquisition of key competencies based on the '4 Schritte +' (4 steps +) model. Depending on the professional goal, the core subjects that can be combined are: English language and literature/English, biology, chemistry, education, Protestant theology/religion, geography, German language and literature/German, history, computer science, Catholic theology/religion, art education/art, art history, Latin, mathematics, musicology/music, philosophy, physics, political science, sociology, Romance studies/Italian, Romance studies/Spanish, sports science/sport, environmental systems science or economics. Romance studies/French can also be chosen as a minor subject in combination with the major subjects biology, chemistry, Protestant theology/religion, geography, art education/art, mathematics or physics.

Admission requirements

Proof of English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Proof of French language skills is deemed to have been provided if competencies in French as a continuing foreign language in the context of the acquisition of the higher education entrance qualification at level B2 (CEFR) were achieved either at the basic or increased requirement level, or French was the language of the educational system at the time of acquiring the higher education entrance qualification, or a language test for French at level B2 (CEFR) (recognised language tests see: www.uni-osnab-rueck.de/sprachnachweise) has been successfully completed.
