Annotation
The students deal with fundamental concepts, terms and approaches of peace, conflict and violence research, whether from a political/theoretical and conceptual/historical perspective, on the basis of comparative studies or from the perspective of international relations. The students deal with the role of different conflict actors, with causes and dynamics of conflicts and violence as well as with practices of conflict mediation and peace promotion by international, state and non-state actors.
Admission requirements
At least a six-semester Bachelor's degree course in Social Sciences or Political Science or a Bachelor's degree course in another suitable subject or an equivalent degree course with a focus on Social Sciences or Political Science. This also includes a two-subject Bachelor's degree course or comparable degree programme in the field of European Studies or an academic degree in one of the following subjects: History, Social Geography, Ethnology, Social Psychology, International Law or Economics. Methodological and basic knowledge of political or social science in the amount of 30 credit points must be proven as well as English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
