Annotation
Coaching, Organisation Consulting and Supervision (COS) is a growth market in view of the increasing complexity of organisations and multiple decision-making requirements. However, there is a gap between the high demand and the large number of offers on the one hand and the professional standards and methodological assurance of the consulting services on the other. Continuing education courses are designed as career-integrated degree courses. Formal enrolment for part-time studies is not possible in this degree course in accordance with the Hessian Enrolment Ordinance. The Master's degree programme in Coaching, Organisational Consulting, Supervision, which is carried out at UNIKIMS, the Management School of the University of Kassel, addresses this disparity with scientifically sound content and sets new standards in the academic training of consultants. The career-integrated continuing education course, which begins in the winter semester, is subject to fees. It was developed specifically for people who are interested in a career as a coach, supervisor, organisational consultant or manager. The admission requirements include, among other things, a passed Bachelor's examination and proof of three years' professional experience. In six semesters, the students complete seven modules, including six with graded examinations, complete an accompanying practical module, write a master's thesis, acquire 120 credits and complete their studies with an oral colloquium. In order to meet the special needs of working students, classroom phases alternate with homework and self-study in an e-learning environment based on mutual exchange. The students are trained with extensive practical components and taking into account current scientific findings in the formats supervision (individual, team and group supervision), coaching (individual and group coaching) and organisational consulting. Against a psychodynamic backdrop, they acquire competencies in, among other things, self-reflection and the focus on their own personality, based on which they obtain advice according to a coherent theory-practice concept and its specific application in their day-to-day work. Graduates are awarded the academic degree of Master of Arts, which entitles them to continue with a doctorate.
