Target group

The course is aimed at graduates with a first professional degree in Degree courses in the field of Philosophy, Ethics or one that is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the amount of 180 credits and subject-related study at a university or equivalent higher education institution in Germany or abroad.

Admission requirements

A subject related requirement is proof of academic achievements in the field of philosophy in the scope of at least 60 credit points and a final grade of at least 'good'. Furthermore, knowledge of Latin and Ancient Greek at an advanced level is required. Command of English and another modern foreign language at A2/B1 level is also required. If three modern foreign languages are proven, the proof of knowledge of Ancient Greek and Latin is not required. Missing language skills can be acquired during the degree course until the registration of the master thesis. International applicants are required to provide proof of command of German at the level of a DSH test (stage 2), a TestDaF (TDN 4) or a recognised equivalent.
