Annotation
Prospective Mathematics students receive academic training, which prepares mathematicians for the highly diverse range of activities in academia, industry and management, and provides them with an initial professional degree qualification after 6 semesters in the Bachelor's degree course in Mathematics. They are trained to apply mathematical methods and to independently obtain further qualifications in Mathematics. Furthermore, they are in a position to complete independent work and to make appropriate presentations of complex matters and results, and to demonstrate communication skills through teamwork. Chemistry, Computer Science, Philosophy, Physics and Economics are currently available as minor subjects. Information and events for prospective students are available at: www.uni-giessen.de/studium/askjustus
Admission requirements
Good preparation for the degree course is offered by the voluntary, free 4-week preliminary Mathematics course (in September of each year) (www.uni-giessen.de/studium/vorkurse).
