Annotation

The Master's degree programme German Studies is anchored in the linguistic and literary studies as well as media and cultural studies focal points of the Institute for German Studies. Based on this, the degree programme offers a research-oriented qualification with opportunities for individual specialist specialisation. The Master's degree programme is made up of two attractive electives that can be freely combined.

Admission requirements

Admission requires the completion of a Bachelor's degree programme or a comparable qualification in which at least 40 CP from the subject German Studies were acquired. The completed courses of study for a teaching profession at primary schools, teaching professions at lower secondary schools and intermediate secondary schools, teaching professions at grammar schools, teaching professions at special needs schools, teaching professions at vocational schools are also recognised, provided that the teaching subject German has been completed. The examination committee can recognise other courses of study as equivalent on an individual case review basis. Admission may be subject to the condition of additional academic achievements to catch up on required knowledge of up to 30 CP, proof of which must be provided within the first two semesters.
