Target group

The consecutive Master''s degree course in 'Cultural Anthropology/Folklore Studies' is aimed at Bachelor's graduates who are planning to carry out (independent) academic work in the area of research, teaching, education, cultural activity, media, tourism, museums, marketing or other areas of work. At the core of the course are the guided study projects which are designed according to the principles of research learning and teaching. They guarantee the students an opportunity to apply relevant research methods and to establish contacts for future professional fields of activity during studies, as well as to practice successful academic teamwork.

Annotation

If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be proven: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education institution, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: Student Service - Admission International).

Admission requirements

Bachelor's degree in the subject of Cultural Anthropology/Ethnology or in a related subject or an equivalent degree from a university in Germany or abroad. A sufficient proficiency in English is required. Applicants who obtained neither their higher education entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution nor a degree in a course conducted in German are required to provide evidence of German proficiency at the level of the “German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for Foreign Students” (DSH).
