1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree in Applied physics with a grade of at least 3.0, or an equivalent degree from a university in Germany or another country, is required. In the case of a foreign overall grade of less than 3.0 when converted into the German grading system, an original certificate from the university at which the academic degree was obtained must be submitted, stating that the applicant was among the top 20% of the final year in natural sciences subjects. This certificate must also show how many final grades were included in the percentage ranking. Those who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification abroad should have their certificates recognised early on via the Student Services (https://www.studium.uni-mainz.de/anerkennung). The application should be submitted six to eight weeks before the respective application deadline, as the certificate of recognition must be attached to the application.
