Annotation

The increasing demand in the wine industry for managers that have been well trained both practically and theoretically justified the establishment of the dual degree course, which is unique in Germany, by the universities of applied science of Bingen, Kaiserslautern and Ludwigshafen (coordinator) with the Rural Region Service Centre (DLR) Rheinpfalz: The degree course combines vocational training as a winegrower with the academic degree of Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Wine Studies in an attractive timeframe. The close cooperation between the partners results in a very strong interlinking of core competences from practice, science and research. This enables targeted and solid training of managers for the national and international wine industry. Prospective students with already completed vocational training as a winegrower, oenotechnician, cellarman, or 'direct entrants', can start their studies. Study location is Neustadt/Weinstraße.
