Annotation

How can you judge whether someone is telling the truth? How can you support offenders in their successful reintegration? How can family law assessments be drawn up that meet the needs of all family members? Legal psychologists work at the interfaces of psychology and the legal system, where questions like these arise on a daily basis. They either work as experts on behalf of courts, work with offenders in the penal system or support police and investigative work. The new consecutive MSc in Psychology: legal psychology at the PHB now offers graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology the opportunity to qualify for these professional fields during their Master's degree course. The degree course conveys both legal psychology and clinical content and optimally prepares you for your first legal psychology position. If you hold a suitable Bachelor's degree, it also qualifies you for training for a licence to practise in accordance with the old training regulations. The degree programme can also be combined with the M.Sc. in Psychology: Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. In this model, graduates acquire two state-recognised master's degrees, but the standard period of study is only three years. After graduation, graduates of the PHB have excellent opportunities for continuing education. For instance, they can enter the second academic year of the career-integrated MSc in Legal Psychology and additionally obtain this advanced academic degree. The length of studies is reduced to one year.
