Graduates with proof of completion of a professionally relevant Bachelor's degree in the field of natural sciences or with proof of a comparable domestic or foreign university degree. The professionally qualifying Bachelor's degree or comparable domestic or foreign certificate of academic degree must have provided qualifications in biological disciplines. It must demonstrate at least 60 credit points (CP) in subjects that are reflected in the subject spectrum of the basic, advanced and in-depth modules of the Bachelor's degree course in Biology at the Philipps University of Marburg. 30 credit points must be clearly assignable to modules with a genetic, microbiological or cell biological orientation.

Annotation

General information: The Master's degree programme in "Molecular Biology of Cellular Systems" provides specialist and methodological training in sub-areas of biology oriented to molecular and cellular biology. In the first year, you will be taught fundamental knowledge that has a specialist and professionally qualifying character. The second year serves to deepen acquired specialist knowledge as well as to familiarise students with the topic of the six-month Master's thesis. The degree course is research-oriented. Accordingly, the training takes place in an active research environment, which is characterised in Marburg by international cooperations, Collaborative Research Centres and research alliances, graduate schools and close cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. Research focuses: molecular questions from: Developmental Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Infection Biology, Mycology, Plant Physiology, Animal Physiology, Synthetic Biology, Cell Biology.
