Target group

The course aims to convey the skills required for an occupation as a singer in the field of opera and concert. Conveyance of relevant competence facilitating professional activity in an international context is of particular importance.

Annotation

Applications are submitted via the student registrars office of the University of Mainz \; Registration for the aptitude test at the University of Music. If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be demonstrated: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: Student Service - Admission International).

Admission requirements

Bachelor's degree in Music or degree courses from a university in Germany or abroad, to which there is no significant difference. Pass the aptitude test (see https://www.musik.uni-mainz.de/studium/bewerbung/). knowledge of the English Language For applicants who have not obtained their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution or a degree in a German-language course, proof of sufficient German language skills (comparable to level B1 CEFR) must be provided. This evidence is provided either by submitting appropriate test certificates or by talking to the examination committee as part of the aptitude test. If this proof is not provided at the latest when the course begins, the admission expires.
