Target group
An application on the basis of a completed bachelor's degree in psychology without a master's or diploma degree is not recommended, because the continuing education course builds on the content of a master's or diploma degree in psychology. Furthermore, according to the Model Law Ordinance of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in its currently valid version, a Master's degree generally requires 300 ECTS credit points from previous studies, of which the postgraduate course in Legal Psychology covers 60 LP.
Admission requirements
- successfully completed undergraduate degree in Psychology - at least one year of relevant postgraduate professional experience in accordance with Section 18 (8) Clause 1 No. 2 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Hochschulgesetz) - current relevant legal-psychological professional experience with tasks in dealing with lawbreakers, preferably in an institution of criminal justice (judicial institution, institution for the administration of punishment, treatment institution for persons in preventive detention, forensic-therapeutic outpatient clinic) - evidence of sufficient German language proficiency, if applicable. Entry Requirements Certification programme: - successfully completed Master's or Diplom degree in Psychology or a successfully completed medical degree, - current relevant professional experience in a criminal justice institution (judicial institution, institution for the administration of punishment, treatment institution for persons in preventive detention, forensic-therapeutic outpatient clinic) as well as - proof of sufficient German language skills, if applicable.
