In order to deepen the theoretical knowledge of material science and material technology science, the emphasis will be on seminar series and engineering and scientific laboratories and internships. No industrial internship is planned. Students are advised to commence studies in the winter semester.

Admission requirements

The Master's degree course in Materials Science & Materials Engineering (MatWerk) builds on the following Bachelor's courses: - Engineering or Natural Science Bachelor degree programs at the University of Siegen - Material Science and / or Materials Engineering Bachelor programs - Other, comparable subject programmes with a standard period of study of at least six semesters and a completed Bachelor's degree examination or comparable final examination 2) The first professional qualification must be at least 3.0 or better. Comparable subject matter is assumed in particular if subjects were part of the course and worth at least 70% of the ECTS credit points of the corresponding Bachelor's degree course at Universität Siegen in accordance with the schedule of studies. 3) Command of German with an examination result of DSH2 (for students who do not speak German)
