Annotation
In continuation of the BA of the same name, but also in connection with comparable national and international Bachelor's programmes, the degree course aims to provide students with a comprehensive scientific education, which includes not only the development of scientific content, but also the critical and creative handling of technical subjects. This opens up the opportunity for the MA English and American Studies to do a doctorate or work in a scientific environment. The knowledge and skills acquired in the MA are intended to enable graduates to learn lifelong at a high level of complexity and thus make them able to adapt to new areas of activity in view of changing needs on the labour market. The MA degree programme in English and American Studies prepares students for a scientific professional field within the scope of the subjects, theories and methods of English and American Studies with their specific interdisciplinary interfaces and thus also creates a qualification basis for other professional fields related to science. Part-time study is quite possible due to the course of study in this degree course. Upon request, you can register for part-time studies in accordance with Section 19 (2) Hesse Higher Education Act (HessHG). The specific provisions for part-time studies will then apply. Counselling by the subject-specific student advice service is recommended.
