The Bachelor’s degree Medical Education (BA) offers a range of study courses that takes into account the rising qualification requirements for healthcare professionals. Due to the concept of the degree programme, access to the public school system (preparatory service/traineeship) is possible after completion of the consecutive Master’s in Medical Education (M.Ed.). The objectives of the programme include subject-specific and interdisciplinary aspects in the areas of academic qualification, pedagogical professional competence, but also personality development and the ability for civic engagement.
Admission requirements
- special admission for working people according to Section 38 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) in accordance with the Entrance Examination Regulations of the university of applied sciences and interview - completed vocational training for a healthcare or social services profession or a comparable academic degree - professional experience of generally two years in an occupation that requires formal training or comparable work as a teacher of vocational courses.
