Annotation
The Bachelor's degree in Education and Teaching is aimed at students interested in a career in teaching at intermediate schools and German lower secondary schools. The Bachelor's degree course qualifies students to enter a profession. Professional qualification, particularly for activities within the professional fields of education associated with school and non-school education in the pre-school, primary and secondary I sectors, is based on the acquisition of well-founded academic skills related to English, the respective combination subject and to Educational Sciences. The course is divided into two subjects: the study of Physics is compulsory unless German, English, French (only with focus on German lower secondary schools), Art, Mathematics or Music is chosen as an alternative. Physics can be combined only with Biology, German, English, Protestant Religion, French (only with focus on German lower secondary schools), History, Islamic Religion, Catholic Religion, Art, Mathematics, Sports or Textile Design. The course of study with the core curriculum (KCL-BEU) also includes an inter-disciplinary professional qualification area that must be completed. The course of study involves two placements of at least nine weeks in total.
