The degree course offers various forms of teaching and learning in addition to seminar-based teaching and project-oriented work in small groups, training in negotiation and conflict management, study and practical reflections as well as an interdisciplinary case seminar. Social workers and social educators are hired by public institutions, organisations of free welfare care, companies or by people to provide special personal services in the areas of counselling, education, prevention, organisational/human resources development, training and representation (care). Social workers and social educators are guided by the needs of citizens and the interests of society and its institutions. The degree programme is followed (optionally) by a probationary year, at the end of which state accreditation as a social worker/social pedagogue is obtained.
