Minor subject in the combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with a major subject Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) The degree depends on the major subject chosen. Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here:https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor In the minor subject "Political Science" you acquire basic specialist knowledge of political science and the ability to undertake scientific work independently. After completing the degree course, you will be able to grasp social and political problems and classify them in problem and effect contexts, taking into account selected fundamental theoretical approaches to social, political and state theory. In the minor subject, you have numerous options. You will focus on the introduction to four subject areas of your choice (Introduction to Political Theory, Introduction to the Political System of the Federal Republic of Germany, Introduction to the Critique of Gender Relations, Introduction to Comparative Political Science, Introduction to International Relations, Introduction to Political Economy). These are supplemented by the advanced area, where you can choose from the five exciting options of "Theories & Methods", "Future of Democracy", "Social and Political Structural Conflicts", "(International) Political Economy" or "Global and Regional Politics". Since the minor subject provides basic knowledge and skills in political science, it is a perfect match as an accompanying subject, for example, for major subjects from the social sciences or philological field as well as major subjects in natural sciences or technology. It thus promotes the increasingly relevant interlinking of general policy-shaping competencies and specific specialist competencies. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills
