Major subject in combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with one or two minor subjects Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here:https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor The major subject in Media Studies covers the audiovisual media of film and photography, radio, television and digital media (computer, internet, multimedia configurations, mobile and social media). You will acquire comprehensive analytical, theoretical and historical knowledge and skills in both research-oriented and practice-oriented form. Media Studies is aimed at students with a pronounced interest in the various forms of media as well as in the perception and verbalisation of audiovisual structures. After completing the study programme, you will be able to examine, reflect on and assess audiovisual media in different contexts and to design, mediate and provide editorial support for audiovisual projects in different contexts. To do this, you can apply the historical, theoretical and analytical knowledge acquired in the field of study to very different audiovisual projects and adopt different media science perspectives. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills).
