The following subject combinations are provided for the Bachelor's degree course Teaching Qualification for Special Schools: -\tSpecial Education subject area I (Emotional and Social Development or Learning) -\tSpecial Education subject area II (one of the specialisations from Special Education subject area I not already selected or one of the subject areas of Mental Development, Hearing and Communication, Physical and Motor Development, Language) -\tTeaching subject I or learning area I (teaching subject Mathematics, teaching subject German, learning area Basic Education in Mathematics or learning area Basic Education in Language) -\tTeaching subject II (Biology, Chemistry, German, English, French, Art, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Protestant/Catholic Religious Education or learning area II (learning area Aesthetic Education, learning area Basic Education in Mathematics, learning area Natural and Social Sciences, learning area Basic Education in Language) Sport can be studied as a teaching subject II at the Deutsche Sporthochschule (DSH). For Art, Music or Sport, proof of successful completion of an aptitude test has to be submitted upon enrolment. All special education subjects, the teaching subjects Biology, Chemistry, German, English and Mathematics, as well as the learning areas Aesthetic Education, Basic Mathematics Education, Natural and Social Sciences and Basic Language Education are subject to the local admission restrictions at the Universität zu Köln.
