• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  Regular students enrolled at Saarland University and other higher education institutions in Saarland are eligible to live in the student residences.

  Application deadline
  None. Accommodation will be allocated according to a waiting list. It is therefore advisable to submit your application as soon as possible.

  Application
  Apply on the homepage via the application for admission. Please submit your CV and passport photo. You must provide your certificate of matriculation when signing the rental contract.

• Erasmus students, students from Eastern Partnerships, double degree students and freemovers

  Students in the Erasmus+ programme, in the Eastern partnerships and double degree students can get a room as long as there is availability. If any rooms are left, students who come as Freemovers can also be offered a room.
  
  Places are allocated according to the receipt of applications during the application period, on a first-come, first-served basis. If more applications are received than places available, the IO will not be able to arrange accommodation for all students. Therefore, please also apply for the dormitories of the Studierendenwerk and private dormitories.
  
  Application deadlines:
  For the winter semester: 1 June - 15 July
  For the summer semester: 15 November - 31 December

• Exchange students within the Weltweit Programme

  For exchange students in the Weltweit programme, accommodation in the dormitory is guaranteed if the stay is at least one or two full semesters.

• Additional information

  Foreign students are given preferential consideration when allocating places in halls of residence.
