  Application requirements
  Students at the
  - Technische Universität Dortmund
  - Fachhochschule Dortmund
  - Fachhochschule Südwestfalen
  - Fernuniversität Hagen
  - Folkwang Hochschule, Standort Dortmund
  - UE Iserlohn (with monthly surcharge)
  - International School of Management/ISM (with monthly surcharge)
  are eligible for student housing until they have completed their studies.
  
  Not eligible for student housing are PhD students, students working as assistant lecturers (“Assistent”), teacher trainees (“Referendar”), interns (“Volontär”) and those in similar positions. Furthermore those who are not full-time students but rather part of the work-force and those who have already completed a final exam at a higher education institution or have reached the maximum regular duration of studies.

  Application deadline
  You can apply at any time as you do not need to be enrolled when applying. Proof of enrolment has to be provided when signing the rental contract.
  It is strongly recommended to apply as early as possible.

  Application
  In May 2024, the application procedure for the residences was changed: Available places in the halls of residence are published on an ongoing basis on the website "Aktuelle Wohnangebote". An application is then made directly for the available place.

• Exchange students (US Programme, ISEP, Erasmus+)

  TU Dortmund University has set up a cooperation agreement with the Studierendenwerk Dortmund and the International Office offers exchange students the service of reserving rooms in the dormitories of the Studierendenwerk. Please do not send any applications to the Studierendenwerk Dortmund directly. You can reserve a dorm room only through the International Office.
  
  To reserve a room in a student dormitory, please fill out the Accommodation Request, sign it and upload it in your application.
