Dr A.O. Omotayo (Pr.Sci.Nat.) is currently an Extraordinary Senior Researcher at the North West University, South Africa. He obtained his PhD in Agricultural Economics at the same institution. Prior to that, he had an MSc and B. Tech. in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the University of Ibadan and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, respectively.
His current research focuses on using quantitative and qualitative methods in analyzing agri-food related issues to inform policies targeted at achieving the UN’s sustainable targets. He has a passion for innovation, rural community engagement, and economic development which has been demonstrated through his cutting-edge research. He has extensively published with reputable high impact peer-reviewed journals.
He currently serves as a Section Editor for Plos Sustainability and Transformation journal, and as a Review Editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems journal. In addition, he is an active reviewer for more than 15 high-impact ISI-rated peer-reviewed journals including Food Security, Environment, Development and Sustainability, Resources Policy, Agriculture, and Plos One, among others. Besides contributing to the research community, he voluntarily contributes and adds value to several think-thanks organizations through community engagement activities

ClimapAfrica provides an excellent avenue for collaborative, knowledge exchange, and scientific research development within Africa and the international communities on climate change and other related environmental shocks. Through opportunities for stakeholder engagements, training, workshops, and conferences, it also empowers African young researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to addressing the prevailing climate change and environmental problems threatening sustainable agricultural production in Africa and beyond.
