Special features regarding the library

Locations: In addition to the new building with very good opening hours (Mon. - Sun. 8am - midnight), Marburg University Library also includes another 14 departmental libraries for academic literature.; Stock: At the end of 2022, the library system was home to over 4.2 million printed volumes, and was well-stocked with electronic media, maps and magazines.; Services: In addition to the attractive place of learning, the library also offers courses, advice, workshops and a media centre that supports working with and creating audiovisual material.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of other Hessian higher education institutions; in the case of non-semester events (in particular excursions) they may also take part in the sports programme of higher education institutions outside of Hesse. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Wide, varied sports programme for students and staff with a focus on health and fitness sport activities, ball sports, dance, martial arts and nature sports - especially in water sports with provision / use of 2 boathouses from the University on the Lahn and Edersee with courses in rowing, canoeing, catamaran / dinghy sailing, sport boat license formations; in addition, there are excursion offers for kiting, whitewater and surfing. In addition to recreational sports, also comprehensive competitive sports programme with opportunities to participate in German university championships.
