Special features regarding the library

Locations: The J. C. Senckenberg university library consists of the central library and 6 departmental libraries.; Stock: Around 10 million media items; Services: It is one of the main academic library sites in Germany. In addition to printed works, students at Goethe University can also use numerous licensed electronic resources via the internet from off campus. There are almost 4,000 workspaces available for studying. In addition, there are advisory and training programmes on digital humanities, open access publishing, research data management and reference management.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students may also take part in the sports programmes of all public universities and universities of applied sciences in the federal state of Hesse, if the host institution permits this. Partnerships exist with some universities. These partnerships allow an alignment of status. Participation is subject to fees. University sports at Goethe University offers a wide range of sports that reflect the various motives for doing sports and provide easy access to sporting activities. The University Sports Centre creates spaces for movement and meeting others and promotes social interaction. In addition to the variety of courses, including both classics such as football and workout courses as well as "exotic" courses such as ballet or K-pop, the programme is rounded off by a series of special events (Goethe Run, Summer Challenge, etc.). There’s something for everyone here.
