Special features regarding the library

Locations: The university library is the central campus library of the TU Hamburg and technical specialised library for the metropolitan region of Hamburg.; Stock: 460,000 e-books and 465,000 printed books, of which about 14,600 are in the textbook collection; 167 printed and 51,000 online academic journals available; Online DIN standards; Service: The library is open 7 days a week (82 hours); Approximately 390 workspaces, computer pool and group work rooms are spread over 2 reading rooms; Self-service terminals for borrowing and returns; 90% of new books, journals and databases are available digitally; Search engine tub.find for all books and articles; Advice on academic work, reference management and handling information; Publication of student work; Up-to-date news via social media and blog

Foreign language center and courses

There is no foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Korean; In addition, there is access to the courses offered by the Volkshochschule (vhs) Hamburg, as the language courses are offered in cooperation with the VHS.

Special features regarding university sports

The university does not have its own sports programme. The TUHH is integrated in the Hamburg University Sports Association. In Hamburg the university sports programme is a joint service of all the state and state-recognised higher education institutions. Participation is subject to fees. Among other things, three gyms, extensive semester sports programme; Various (winter) sports trips. The SportsCard includes a range of more than 200 sports courses in more than 80 fitness, endurance, ball, health and dance sports and martial arts. A fitness studio is located directly on the TUHH campus. By default, this offers: high-quality cardio and weight machines, a spacious free barbell area, sauna and relaxation room as well as sports facilities in the course room. Opening hours of the fitness studios and courses can be found online.
