Foreign language center and courses
There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Arabic, Turkish, German Sign Language, Finnish, Hebrew, Korean, Kurdish, Dutch. Participation in the cross-university programme is possible, which usually takes place at the University of Bremen, but sometimes also directly at Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

Special features regarding university sports
The university does not have its own sports programme. Cutter rowing at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences: Cutter rowing is a sport in which a cutter (a life boat from a large ship) is moved (rowed) a specified distance by a team of about 10 people plus a cox. The cutter rowers sit in pairs at the oars, the helmsman ensures the correct course and the motivation of the team. in 1986, the Nautical Science degree course organised the first international cutter rowing race on the Weser river. Bremen University of Applied Sciences has several student teams. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees.
