Special features regarding the library

Stock: 65,000 books, 70,000 e-books, 6,000 databases, 15,000 e-journals, 7,000 online video tutorials, 3,500 film DVDs/Blu-rays, 180 online daily and weekly newspapers, comic collection & other special resources.; Services: Stuttgart Media University (HdM) library is a specialist academic library. Through specialist portals and catalogues, it offers access to information available worldwide. Through consultation and training, it promotes users' media and information competency and supports independent learning. It provides individual workspaces, reading corners and numerous team workspaces. The learning centre offers group tables with fixed displays, mobile partitions, room dividers, whiteboards and flip charts. One special feature is an attached open creative workshop (makerspace).

Special features regarding university sports

The university does not have its own sports programme. Students of the Hochschule der Medien (Media University) can participate in the courses of the General University Sports Centre of the University of Stuttgart at reduced fees. Independently of the sports programme at the Universität Stuttgart, students of the Hochschule der Medien are also able to participate in competitions and tournaments offered as part of the university sports programme.
