It serves as a scientific library for research and teaching, study and professional development in the fields of Medicine, Health Sciences, Technology, Economics, Construction, IT and Natural Sciences. In December 2023, the library was reopened after extensive modernisation (including 500 workspaces, group rooms, sound insulation, conference systems, PC spaces, lounge, barrier-free workspaces, standing workspaces).

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. The Lübeck Central Facility for University Sports is a joint facility of Lübeck Academy of Music, Technical University of Applied Sciences Lübeck, the University of Lübeck and the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences. In addition, participation in sports trips and ski trips of Hamburg University Sports is possible. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The programme includes water sports (canoeing, dinghy and yacht sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, rowing), martial arts and budo sports, dance sports and health and fitness training. Fitness sports; Partnership with gym wellyou directly on campus including use of all 25 wellyou studios in northern Germany; numerous club cooperations in the areas of ball sports and martial arts.
