Locations: Main university library; Campus library; Various branch libraries; Stock: 5.5 million volumes; About 6,500 current journals; 8,700 manuscripts; 173,000 autographs; 3,600 incunabula; Service: Central university library opening hours: Mon-Fri 8am-10pm, Sat 10am-7pm; Lending times: Mon-Fri 10am-7pm, Sat 10am-4pm; the "Campus-Bibliothek" branch library is open 24 hours a day. When the main entrance is closed, students can access the library via the night-time entrance. In addition to the library services, students can borrow and return items via a self-service terminal.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. A wide range of sports, quick reaction to and uptake of trends, boathouse on the sports campus, surfing and sailing close to the centre, water sports day, university sports festival, dance festival with performances by all university sports centre dance groups, gala with performances by university sports centre groups, university leagues, award ceremonies for the most successful sports personalities and top athletes with awards presented in person by the Vice Chancellor, university health day. Special university sports events: weekend activities, competitions, excursions, social events.
