The Freiberg University Library also has a workstation for the blind and visually impaired, a parent-child room and a podcast room. In the mixed reality rooms, students have the opportunity to design and experience virtual worlds. Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Online sports via LHS Sachsen; Water sports (canoe) HS Mittweida; Courses, one-day and multi-day events at other Saxon universities Participation is subject to fees. The diverse range of sports offered by the Unisport Centre is open to students and employees alike. Approximately 120 courses in approximately 50 sports are offered per semester for individual use. A cardio and strength room is available for flexible use. The outdoor area with beach volleyball court and tennis court can be booked on a punctual and permanent basis. In addition, sport-specific excursions, excursions and sports trips are offered. Almost all sports offers of the USZ can be used without a waiting list and usually with enough free places.
