Locations: The Saarland University and State Library (SULB) is the university library of Saarland University. It is divided into a central library building and several departmental campus libraries.; Stock: Stock of over 1.6 million media and over 3,300 current print journals, more than 5,800 databases and about 28,000 electronic journals and audiovisual media; Services: Items from the stack room can be borrowed directly via the Saarland virtual catalogue (immediate loan); Freely accessible stack room with current research literature; Off-site stack room; Self-service terminals; loans can be extended online; titles not available can be obtained from other libraries via the interlibrary loan system; Online use of digital media / specialist databases via VPN; Extensive learning and workspaces; Scanning, copying and printing services; Print orders via SULB photographic service.

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Turkish, Bulgarian, Greek, Catalan, Croatian-Serbian, Ukrainian.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the htw saar, hfm saar and hbk saar. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The main programme focuses are: Leisure and grass-roots sports, health-oriented sports and exercise programmes, computer-aided training on state-of-the-art fitness equipment and with qualified instruction in the Uni-Fit university gym, special exercise programmes for staff (“Uni in Bewegung” - Uni in Motion), tournaments and events, participation in German University Championships, support for students in university squads (elite sports partner university).
