Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. There are currently participation cooperations with: Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Mainz Catholic University of Applied Sciences, Bingen University of Applied Sciences, RhineMain University of Applied Sciences (Wiesbaden and Rüsselsheim campuses), European Management School Mainz, Mainz International University of Applied Sciences. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Currently about 65 different types of sport available; The practically-oriented further education offered for instructors is recognised to extend the validity of a German Olympic Sports Confederation instructor license for popular and leisure sports by the Rheinhessen sports association.
