Special features regarding the library

Locations: The library system of the University is divided into the central university library and 62 local libraries.; Stock: The stock comprises a total of approx. 8.3 million volumes, of which approx. 2.3 million are electronic volumes.; Services: The university library (ULB) ensures a comprehensive and rapid supply of all academic information available at the University directly to the workspace by providing digitalisations and electronic full texts. An integrated search engine allows this information to be searched together with the literature stock. The university library supports research as a partner in the field of e-science, e.g. in the context of digital humanities and research data management.

Foreign language center and courses

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Arabic, Turkish, Ancient Greek, German (preparatory course, accompanying studies or for visiting scholars), Danish, Sign Language.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. Students and employees of the University of Münster, the University of Applied Sciences of Münster, the Art Academy, Catholic University of Applied Sciences (KathFH) and German Police University (DHPol) are eligible to participate. The spectrum includes around 150 different sports, which are offered in popular health sports courses and sports tours (e.g. skiing, canoeing, surfing, trekking). Approximately 800 hours of sports are offered per week for approx. 25,000 participants. Numerous events (including Campus League, Leonardo Campus Run, University Sports Ball) complete the programme. As partner universities of top-class sport, the University and Münster University of Applied Sciences promote top-class student athletes.
