The IDE (Innovation Duisburg-Essen) is the competence centre for innovation and business start-ups at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). The goal of the IDE is the visible and sustainable promotion of ideas generation within the university and university spin-offs. The IDE actively promotes and supports the development and implementation of product ideas and business concepts from within the university

Other special features

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is a department within the Faculty of Engineering. Its 70 research areas make it one of the largest engineering departments in Germany. In the range of compulsory elective subjects, this enables broad interdisciplinary training. In research, there are four cross-departmental faculty focal points: "Tailored Materials", "Human-Centered Cyber-Physical Systems", "Smart Engineering" and "Energy and Resource Engineering".
