Special features regarding teaching

Through their own projects, research papers and talks, students learn how to work independently and how to handle in an integrated way intelligent automated systems based on the three components electrical engineering/electronics, computer science and mechanical engineering. Students acquire special competences in engineering based on targeted, mathematics and science-based, experimental work with CAD and simulation tools in order to apply them in the development of high-tech products.

Promotion of periods abroad as part of the Erasmus programmes and as part of double degree programmes with international universities.

Excellent laboratory equipment in the field of automation technology.

Special features regarding research and development

The department research focus is on topics in production engineering, particularly automation, but also in the areas of networked mobility and human-machine interaction in both areas. Where possible, students with appropriate performance are involved in these research topics.
