Special features regarding teaching

The Architecture Department offers a variety of different orientations in the field of design and construction planning, a broad range of options in the artistic/design area and highly developed training in computer-assisted design. The extensive and varied mandatory elective options allow students to combine the compulsory modules with courses in their individual fields of interest. Mentoring system with development of an individual learning biography in the Master´s degree programme.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The Department’s International Relations Office has been set up to provide individual guidance and supervision of students, doctoral candidates and teaching staff, providing professional assistance in learning to operate on an international level. EU accreditation of the Bachelor’s and Master´s degree programmes, providing automatic professional certification as architects within Europe.

Special features regarding the equipment

Plotter service, laser cutter, cutter plotter, multiple 3D printers, 2 photo studios, woodworking/model-building workshop, metalworking workshop, workshop for printing technology, ceramics workshop, computer pools and laboratory for augmented and virtual reality. Software equipment in the computer pools, among others: Microsoft Office, Adobe, AutoCAD, Allplan, Rhino, VRay, QGIS, Revit, Vectorworks, Cinema 4D, 3DSmax, ORCA AVA.

Special features regarding research activities

The research profile of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at Leibniz Universität Hannover is particularly characterized by sustainable, form-based research (creative basic research). Points of research focus: reflexive design; future of urbanisation and rural development; multi-functionality in landscape, culture and technology. The Faculty of Architecture and Landscape therefore offers diverse opportunities for research in engineering and natural sciences as well as in design.
