Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The degree programme allows all students to start with a generally accessible introduction to the fundamentals of programming, mathematics and computer science. From the second semester onwards, students delve deeper into aspects of programming and computer science that are particularly relevant for game development. Among other things, these include algorithms for route lookups and the special software architectures of game engines. As the course progresses, there are specific lectures on topics such as graphic programming, game physics and AI.

Exchange universities for stay abroads

Whitecliffe University, New Sealand; USP, Sao Paulo; Parsons, New York; Hunan Normal University, Changcha; Emperial College, London

Special features regarding research and development

Visualisation projects of complex scientific relationships with two research groups: 1. Munich University of Technology (TUM) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Werner Hemmert. Principles of information processing in the auditory system and novel approaches

Other special features

Due to the small year groups and the coverage of most modules by professors, a friendly atmosphere is created at the mdh. As a result, topics such as the diversity of students (and teaching staff) are dealt with on a personal level. Teachers are able to better respond to the special needs of individual students. This means that, for example, individual needs can also be addressed with more flexibility in the design of the course or in the acceptance of exams (e.g. disadvantage compensation).
