Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

The special feature of this programme is that the courses are relatively small and close supervision of the students is ensured. In addition, this programme has a very international focus and our students come from all over the world. The diversity of students and lecturers provides students an environment conducive to learning.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Our study programme is part of the Erasmus exchange programme. The programme has exchange agreements with the following universities: Universitat Autònoma di Barcelona (Spain), University of Bucharest (Romania), Université de Fribourg (Switzerland), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), University of Lucerne (Switzerland), University of Umeå (Sweden), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Breslau (Poland). In addition, the Freie Universität supports students who are interested in an international internship.

Special features regarding the equipment

Students of the degree course have access to the GESIS data archive for Social Sciences. A very large data archive containing some of the most important data sources relevant to Social Sciences. The FU also has ICPSR access.

Special features regarding research activities

Cooperation with the regional institutes of Eastern Europe, Latin America and the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies at the Freie Universität, as well as the Berlin Science Centre (WZB) and the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP).

Other special features

In terms of diversity, the degree course is characterised by the relatively large number of students from non-EU countries and other non-European regions of the world.
