Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The project orientation of the course of study, in particular in the methodological training and the research learning module, enables students to have in-depth involvement in their own practical research activities in the undergraduate course of study. The supervision is particularly close here. At the same time, the breadth of the thematic modules and the additional elective area allow for specialisations according to students' own interests and wishes.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Master of Science and Society: This is a small learning group, and the lecturers closely coordinate the content of their courses. Students learn a lot from each other due to the interdisciplinary composition of the courses. Master's in Sociology: In order to leverage synergies and to study a topic from different perspectives or approaches, the profile module is closely interlinked by co-teaching in the three profile areas.

Special features regarding the equipment

CIP clusters, departmental training rooms, and subject-specific databases are made available via the TIB

Special features regarding research activities

The master's in Science and Society is closely linked to the focus of the LUH Science Reflection. The specialisation will soon have its own research building: the Science Reflection Forum. Interdisciplinary scientific and university research is organized institutionally by the Leibniz Centre for Science and Society. The degree programme is thus integrated into an extremely successful research field.
