Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The Bachelor of Arts degree programme in Sociology provides fundamental education in sociological theory, methodology and essential special sociology. The curriculum combines classical and modern sociological topics with fundamental methodological skills. Special emphasis is also placed on communication skills, key qualifications and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

The Master of Arts in Sociology teaches applied research skills for the theoretically based and empirically controlled analysis of social problems with a focus on social inequalities. In the two-year study programme, students learn about all phases of research projects and how to carry them out them independently - from planning and resource acquisition to the development of research designs, data collection and analysis, and the presentation of results.
