Special features regarding teaching

The vision of the University of Applied Sciences Kiel: We are the university of excellence for teaching in the north! The aim of the Master´s degree programme in Industrial Engineering is to prepare students for managerial roles in a digital world. The focus is on managerial tasks performed at the interfaces between technology and business. In order to achieve the qualification goals, ways for a scientifically based, application-oriented solution of complex decision problems are worked out in personal contact with the teachers (and also companies). The teaching is characterised by the latest didactic concepts.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The regular study plan includes a mobility window that enables students to complete one or two semesters abroad at one of the numerous partner universities and to have their achievements easily recognised - without extending the standard period of study. Some partner universities also offer the option of a double degree.

Special features regarding the equipment

The technical equipment / IT of the department is state of the art and qualitatively and quantitatively at a high level. It offers access to essential software products for different purposes. Excellent research opportunities are available through the university library and the Central Library for Economics (ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics), which is accessible to FH students in Kiel. If, for example, in projects, there is a need for special technical equipment, the facilities of technical faculties or competence centres can be used if necessary.
