Special features regarding teaching

The courses in Business Psychology combine Psychology, Economics and Intercultural Communication. The Bachelor is characterised by approx. 50% English-language courses, innovative learning formats (e.g. Assessment Centre, Nudge Night etc.) and a strong methodological focus. After basic training, an internship abroad / with a foreign focus follows. The Master is in English.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The courses in Business Psychology focus on intercultural communication based on the conviction that today, business can no longer be thought of without international interdependencies and intercultural understanding has become a key competence. The Bachelor's programme offers around 50% of all events in English and, after completing basic training, includes an internship abroad or with an international focus in the first four semesters.

Special features regarding the equipment

The subject has an Industrial Psychology laboratory with excellent equipment: Observation room including behaviour monitoring software Interact, Eye Tracking measuring device, the possibility of physiological measurements (e.g. skin conductivity, blood pressure) and the corresponding evaluation software. Students can work in the PC clusters with the statistical software packages SPSS and R, they have free access to numerous databases (e.g. Psychinfo & Psychindex) and various specialist journals.

Support for founders

At its Lippstadt premises, HSHL offers the Master´s degree programme in “Technical Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, which is of special interest to prospective entrepreneurs. The topic is dealt with in a variety of ways. A business ideas competitions for students is held and start-up grants are available for students as well as additional contact points such as the Entrepreneurclub, the Science 2 Business Lab and a consulting company for students. The HSHL is a partner in the joint project StartUP.InnoLab, and a cooperation partner in the non-profit initiative STARTUP TEENS and offers a comprehensive network.

Other special features

The Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt has a new building on both campuses, the latest technology (lecture theatres and laboratories) and also provides many student workspaces (group and individual workspaces). Existing partnerships offer numerous opportunities for innovations, including the Fraunhofer Application Centre SYMILA. HSHL offers market-oriented and practice-related courses, openness, tolerance, team orientation and high standards right from the start.
