Special features regarding teaching

The University of Applied Sciences Europe is part of Global University Systems. The university stands for future-oriented competence development and practical, interdisciplinary teaching formats according to the highest international standards at the Iserlohn, Berlin, Potsdam and Hamburg locations. Through the interplay of creativity, entrepreneurial and digital thinking as well as internationality, the disciplines mutually enhance each other and show new perspectives in teaching and research that are tailored to the needs of the labour market 4.0.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The growing importance of international exchange and the consideration of intercultural skills are underlined by the explicit offer of corresponding courses in the respective curricula of the individual degree courses. In addition, there are mandatory stays abroad in most courses. Our university has a strong international orientation, both in terms of its teaching staff and its student body. In the winter semester 2022/23, around 90% of the first-year students came from abroad.

Special features regarding research activities

Application-oriented research is an elementary component of practice-oriented teaching, which is a hallmark of the UE's educational model. At the heart of our research is the concept of "human-centred innovation". Human in this context means ethical, sustainable and experience-oriented. For the UE, this means pursuing an interdisciplinary and agile research strategy that adapts to market requirements and enables innovative combinations of research content.

Support for founders

The Career Centre offers regular workshops on business start-ups and corresponding specialist lectures. In addition, the topic plays a central role in many lectures.

Other special features

At the Berlin campus, there is a Diversity Task Force that brings together an interdisciplinary team of staff (administration and professors) spanning the faculties. Students and staff can turn to the Task Force in the event of discrimination. Any form of discrimination is condemned at the UE and appropriate action will be taken.
