Digitalisation and its transformation effects relevant to business management form an essential pillar of the degree programmes, as do introductory aspects of data science, such as digital transformation, e-commerce, the Internet of Things or ERP systems. Digital and physical worlds are taken into account simultaneously wherever possible. The customised development of business models is systematically addressed in change management.

Saxony University of Cooperative Education has been awarded the ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) for its seven locations; This gives students and teaching staff the opportunity to take part in the Erasmus+ programme and spend time abroad, among other things. As part of their lab activities, students can significantly expand their practical skills in the use of modern technical systems and thus become almost direct technology multipliers for companies. In the faculty, teaching staff, students and industry partners are provided with modern systems from the following areas: ERP systems including databases, APS systems including databases, simulation systems, smart factory, digital image and film editing technology, recording studio, language lab, lab for product and consumer research, IoT lab.

Our research activities take place in the three fields of action of structured knowledge and technology transfer, in which academic actors seek dialogue with partners outside the academic world in order to communicate, apply and advise in an academic way.

The examination of business models and their continually necessary further development in the context of the company life cycle - including the pre-start-up and start-up phase of companies with their typical problems and associated structuring recommendations - form the starting point and reference point for the course.

Topics such as sustainability or digitalisation are dealt with in an application-oriented manner within function-specific courses and taken into account in the discussion of cross-divisional functions.
