Special features regarding teaching

The ITM degree course is characterised by a high level of practical relevance, which is reflected, on the one hand, in the six compulsory practical phases and, on the other, in the high level of practical relevance in teaching. 60% of the lecturers come from industry and teach in the degree course on a fee basis. In addition, key skills such as intercultural, social, communication and digital skills are taught. There is a special focus on international content in the modules and extensive foreign language training. Work placements abroad are supported.

There is a special focus in the degree course on international content in the modules and extensive foreign language training. Work placements and stays abroad (language courses, excursions, etc.) are funded via Erasmus+ and PROMOS.

Special features regarding the equipment

Breitenbrunn University of Cooperative Education has excellent technical equipment (computer labs, language lab, etc.). Subject-specific databases and programmes are used both in teaching and for independent learning.

Special features regarding research activities

The degree course works closely with regional industry in joint projects. These are generally worked on in the specialisations. The results are presented on various forums. In addition, the degree course supports the Erzgebirge Tourism Association in the marketing of the UNESCO World Heritage Ore Mountains.

Support for founders

The degree course offers the “Business Start-up” module as a compulsory elective module in the 6th semester.

Other special features

Special attention is paid to the topics of diversity and sustainability in the degree course. Both topics are promoted both in the lectures (e.g. International Employer Branding) and in projects (e.g. project on sustainability in rural areas in cooperation with the municipality of Breitenbrunn) and in daily interaction with each other.
