Special features regarding teaching

The qualification goal lies in imparting Business Administration and Psychological skills and preparing them for professional activities in the areas of HRM, consulting and marketing / market research. In addition to classic teaching formats, innovative teaching formats (e.g. flipped classroom, workshops, video-based teaching, case studies) are offered. Learned content is deepened in project work and transfer is practised via applied practice projects. The practical relevance of the teaching content is provided by the practical experience of the professors and lecturers.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In addition to modules that explicitly relate to international subjects (for example "Intercultural Competencies" in the Bachelor's degree and "International Project Management" in the Master's degree), attention is paid to the anchoring of international subjects in all modules where it makes sense to do so. A semester abroad or an additional academic degree from a partner university can be integrated into the course of study. Intercultural experience can be gained directly abroad through work placements abroad, semesters abroad or short international stays (including summer and winter schools).

Exchange universities for stay abroads

Merida und Monterrey Tech, Mexiko City, Mexiko; University of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown, Kanada; California State University at Bakersfield, USA; INHA University, Incheon, nahe Seoul, Südkorea; Jinan University, Guangzhou, China; Hosei University, Tokio, Japan; Universidad de Granada, Spanien; Metropolia University, Helsinki, Finnland; Napier University, Edinburgh, UK; Dublin Business School, Irland.

Special features regarding the equipment

To support teaching and research, access to several literature databases relevant to the degree course (e.g. Business Source Premier, PsychARTICLES, PsychINFO) has been set up. As well as being resources for searches, these also provide access to current research work. There is also access to Statista.de, an online portal for survey statistics and the Marketline portal. Via the business psychology lab, teaching staff and students have access to presentation material, hardware (e.g. VR/AR, eye tracker, biophysiology), software (e.g. SPSS, UniPark) and a large test library.

Special features regarding research activities

The research activities of the faculty focus especially on the topics of "Acceptance Research" and "Transformation". In both areas, the faculty is involved in various third-party funded projects (e.g. iCity 2: Mobility4iCity, iCity 2: EMO4iCity, Smart2Charge). The results of the acceptance research are displayed via the transfer platform acceptancelab.com. In addition, the faculty is leading the transfer project "M4Lab: Innovative University", the start-up centre "PlanG " and the network "Together against Burnout". Students are actively involved in all projects.

Support for founders

Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences has a start-up initiative called “PlanG”: Here, all members of the university are given the opportunity to develop and drive forward their start-up ideas as part of their studies/research. In addition, advisory services for individual start-up support are created for students and researchers, with which they can make their start-up projects more concrete. This service has also been integrated into courses in the two degree courses and has already led to the first student start-ups (e.g. improveMID)

Other special features

The development of business skills, research and methodological skills as well as transdisciplinary and intercultural skills are promoted. In many events, the ability to criticize is encouraged through prompt and intensive feedback on the work performed and the students are shown individual development areas. In addition, Wednesday afternoons are generally lecture-free and reserved for language courses that students can voluntarily take if they are interested. Free online language courses are also offered.
