Special features regarding teaching

Due to the interdisciplinary orientation of the department and a social development characterised by changes, families are placed in the focus of an understanding of a manufacturing and design process of the "doing family". Using the interdisciplinary view of the curriculum vitae, students learn social work and psychological-pedagogical concepts, theoretical foundations and cross-disciplinary skills that enable them to provide and implement tailored help and resource-oriented offers for the addressees.

Special features regarding research activities

Students have the opportunity to participate in curricular and extracurricular research projects and receive an application-oriented education in quantitative and qualitative research methods. The research focus areas are Needs Assessments and Evaluations in the context of Child and Youth Welfare. There is a very good networking for this purpose with the municipal practice offices in public, independent and church sponsorship.
