Special features regarding teaching

The profile of Economic Sciences is shaped by the key areas of Accounting, Empirical Economics Research and Business Informatics. In the clearly structured study programmes, practical content is given a firm academic basis and the important academic methods needed to form independent judgements are taught. The programmes can be studied either on a general track or with one of the aforementioned specialisations. Students can choose an option in the course of their studies.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Exchange programmes with various European universities as part of ERASMUS; Exchange programme with a Chinese university currently in development; Courses taught in English as part of the programme (including by native speakers), whereby the scope can be varied according to individual preferences.

Exchange universities for stay abroads

Université Paris-Est Crétil Val de Marne, Frankreich; Durham University, Großbritannien; Universitá degli studi di Firenze, Italien; University of Warsaw, Polen; Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), Polen; Linnaeus University (Linnéuniversitetet), Schweden; Universidad de A Coruña, Spanien; Universidad de Valladolid, Spanien; Romanian-American University, Rumänien; Yeditepe Universität Istanbul, Türkei.

Special features regarding the equipment

Computer rooms are custom-equipped for all three specialisations; Excellent WiFi coverage; Free access for students to high-quality scientific databases for literature and data research; Experimental laboratory where students can take part in scientific experiments.

Special features regarding research activities

The three key teaching areas (Accounting, Empirical Economics Research, Business Informatics) are each represented by several professors and, accordingly, are also solidly grounded in research.

Support for founders

The transfer and innovation management of the Osnabrück universities (TIM) has a start-up service that members of the University of Osnabrück and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences can take advantage of. TIM offers start-up advice and start-up coaching as well as workshops on start-up questions.
